Another vacation

Tomorrow I take off for yet another of this summer’s vacations. Three Pickering gals and my father will likely be exploring waterways in California and Mexico by way of kite surfing and snorkeling. Matthew will be driving us to the airport from which we depart at 5 am. A.M.! I shake my fist at my father for that one. I guess I will let it go this time, he is making a tremendous effort to us “kids” for the first time this year. Matthew, Brit, and myself checked out Cedar Falls’ new hopping water park today, incorrectly called “the balls”. no its not really, but thats what Matthew heard when I read the sign out loud. The first thing we noticed was the numerous and very detailed signs telling us what exactly constitutes as a bathing suit. Both Brit and Matthew were incorrectly prepared. Brit was wearing a black sports bra and board shorts (man suit) and Matthew was wearing an old fashioned men’s swimsuit which was not pictured. We tried not to make eye contact with the teenagers working the entrance and filtered on through. I told Brit not to take her towel off until we got into the water. I said that if they tried to kick us out I would threaten to sue them on the grounds of discrimination. Her “suit”, I feel, was acceptable. Not every woman wants to run around in a constricting bikini or one piece suit. Alot of people there actually would have benefited from not wearing bikinis, I am terrible, I know. We jumped into the 5 foot area first. Matthew got quite a few looks for his get up. We looked nice together I am sure since I had worn my 50’s bathing suit. We smelled chlorine right away, which from what we learned the other day about it and how it works, was a bad sign. I wished good immune systems upon all of us. Alas, now I am wiped out. I am darn close to being back in school now. I need to just jump on some waiting lists and hopefully all will go well. ‘crosses fingers’
